The Citizen Action Symposium (SIAC) is a FREE event, in person and online, organized by the researchers of the Citizen Action Group Research Language in Activities in the School Context (LACE), led by teachers Fernanda Liberali and Maria Cecília Camargo Magalhães. It is a space for the exchange of knowledge experienced in different spaces of social, educational and research action. Thus, it opens space for the submission of papers that report research or experiences in early childhood education centers, public and private schools, universities, institutes, NGOs, among others.
It is expected to provoke collaborative, critical and creative debate among participants, with a view to mobilizing and transforming society. It also aims to provide participants with the opportunity to present and deepen discussions on social practices and understandings of the theoretical-methodological bases of their research, in the meeting with teachers, students, employees and other school agents, as well as researchers from various institutions and leaders from different communities, in the discussion of themes such as critical-citizen training, engaged research, multicultural education, early childhood education, distance education, inclusive education, multiliteracies, multilingualism, training of trainers, diversities, vulnerabilities, intersectionalities, climate emergency, among others.
With SIAC, GP LACE has always aimed seek ways to resist-expand through engagement in insurgent practices for the pursuit of social and ecological justice and the appreciation of diversity. The event is made up of critical-collaborative spaces in which the power of collective actions becomes a tool to crack reality.
This year, 2024, LACE completes 20 years of research engaged with national and international partnerships, on various fronts of investigative, social, economic, political and cultural research, involving researchers, students, family members, educators, managers of public and private institutions, leaders and community agents - children, young people and adults.
Thus, for this XIII Citizen Action Symposium, we want to celebrate the constitution of LACE marked by the collective and collaborative power of many with whom we co-create, resist and expand possible futures. All these partners and other agents engaged with social change in the different sectors of human activity are invited to submit their research and experience reports to celebrate the 20 years of engaged research of the LACE Group.
